The LAW OFFICE OF ELIZABETH BASDEN is a Texas professional limited liability company providing legal services to individuals and entities.

Our principal, Elizabeth Basden, is an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas. She has practiced in the areas of business and commercial transactions, litigation, arbitration, and appellate law, with emphases in real estate, finance, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes, and general business operations.  She is a speaker on leadership and business, and has contributed to several publications on business topics.

Elizabeth also works with not-for-profit companies and their boards, consulting on governance and structural matters, as well as advising individuals on formation of private and public charities, and is a frequent speaker for not-for-profit groups and consultants on the not-for-profit industry.  She has served as a director on several boards of directors, and advises many others on governance issues or structures.  From 2012-2017, she served as corporate secretary and director on the Board of Directors of the Council for Economic Education, a national nonprofit providing curricula and support to state and university councils who educate K-12 teachers in economic education.

Elizabeth graduated in 2000 from Southern Methodist University School of Law with honors, where she served as President of Women in Law Students Association and Editor-in-Chief of The Law and Business Review of the Americas.  She was a Jackson Walker Moot Court Champion her first year of law school, and was named Best Oral Advocate of the Jackson Walker Competition.  She earned her MA in English with high honors, and her BA with honors in English and History, from Abilene Christian University.  Prior to and during law school, she was an instructor of English at Abilene Christian University and Southern Methodist University.  She is admitted to the Texas bar and is a member of the American Bar Association.  She can be contacted at eli@basdenlaw.com.
